Carlos TV ("us", "we", or "our") operates the Hexo macOS application ("the App"). This Privacy Policy explains our practices regarding the collection, use, and disclosure of information when you use our App.

1. Information We Collect

1.1 NO Personal Data Collection. Hexo does not collect, transmit, store, or share any personal data. The App operates entirely locally on your Mac.

Hexo uses screen capture capabilities exclusively to sample individual pixel colors from your display for palette creation. No screenshots, recordings, or other screen content are captured or stored. All color data remains local on your device and is never transmitted to external servers or third parties.

1.2 Information Stored Locally. The following information is stored only on your device and is never transmitted to us or any third party:

- Color Palettes: All color palettes you create or import

  - Folders: Folder organization and structure

  - Settings: Your preferences and app configuration

  - Recent Colors: Colors you've recently picked or used

  - Favorites: Palettes marked as favorites

All this data is stored in the app's sandboxed container on your Mac at:

~/Library/Containers/com.carlostv.hexo/Data/Library/Application Support/

1.3 Screen Recording.

Hexo uses screen capture only when you explicitly use the color picker tool to sample colors from your screen. Only individual pixel color values (RGB data) are captured at the exact point you select. No screenshots, images, or video recordings are created or stored. All captured color data remains private and local to your device.

2. How We Use Information. Since we do not collect any information, we do not use any information about you.

3. Data Storage and Security

3.1 Local Storage Only. All data created or imported in Hexo is stored exclusively on your local device using Apple's sandboxed storage system.

3.2 iCloud Sync (If Enabled in Future Updates). If iCloud sync is enabled in future versions:

  - Data would be stored in your personal iCloud account

  - Data would be encrypted in transit and at rest

  - Only you would have access to synced data

  - We would never have access to your iCloud data

4. Data Sharing and Third Parties

4.1 No Third-Party Sharing. We do not share any information with third parties because we do not collect any information.

4.2 No Analytics or Tracking. Hexo does not include any analytics, tracking, or telemetry services. We do not track your usage of the App.

4.3 No Advertising. Hexo does not display advertisements and does not share data with advertising networks.

5. Data Export and Portability

5.1 Your Control. You have complete control over your data:

  - Export: Export your palettes at any time in multiple formats (JSON, ASE, ACO, GPL, etc.)

  - Delete: Delete individual palettes, folders, or all data from within the App

  - Backup: Create backups by exporting your palettes

5.2 Data Portability. Exported palettes can be:

  - Imported into other color management applications

  - Shared with colleagues or clients

  - Backed up to cloud storage services of your choice

  - Transferred between Macs manually

6. Data Retention

6.1 Local Retention. Your data remains on your device until:

  - You manually delete it from within the App, or

  - You delete the App from your Mac

6.2 App Deletion. Important: If you delete Hexo from your Mac, all your palettes and settings stored in the app's container will be deleted. We recommend exporting your palettes before uninstalling.

7. Children's Privacy. Hexo does not collect information from children. The App is intended for general use by professionals and hobbyists of all ages. Since we do not collect any personal information, no special provisions for children are necessary.

8. Mac App Store

8.1 Purchase Information. When you purchase Hexo through the Mac App Store, Apple processes your payment information. We do not receive or have access to your payment details. Please refer to Apple's Privacy Policy for information about how Apple handles your purchase data.

8.2 App Store Analytics. The Mac App Store may collect anonymous analytics about app downloads and usage. This data is aggregated and anonymized by Apple. We may receive aggregated statistics about app performance and downloads, but these do not identify individual users.

9. Permissions

9.1 File Access. Hexo requests permission to:

  - User-Selected Files (Read/Write): To import color palettes and images that you explicitly

  select

  - Downloads Folder (Read/Write): To export palettes to your Downloads folder

  - Pictures Folder (Read/Write): To access images for color extraction

These permissions are only used when you explicitly choose files or save exports.

9.2 Screen Recording. The screen color picker feature requires Screen Recording permission to sample colors from your screen. This permission:

  - Is only used when you activate the screen color picker

  - Does not record or save screenshots

  - Does not transmit any screen data

  - Can be revoked at any time in System Settings

10. International Users. Hexo is designed for worldwide use. Since all data is stored locally on your device, data protection laws in your jurisdiction apply to how your data is handled on your Mac. We do not transfer data internationally because we do not collect or transmit data.

11. Changes to This Privacy Policy

11.1 Policy Updates. We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by:

  - Posting the new Privacy Policy in the App

  - Updating the "Last Updated" date

  - Providing notice through the Mac App Store (for significant changes)

11.2 Your Consent. Your continued use of the App after any changes to this Privacy Policy constitutes acceptance of those changes.

12. Your Rights

12.1 Data Access. Since all data is stored on your device, you have direct access to all your data within the App.

12.2 Data Deletion. You can delete any or all of your data at any time through the App's interface.

12.3 Data Correction. You can edit and correct any data (palette names, colors, folder names, etc.) directly in the App.

13. Security

13.1 Local Security. Your data is protected by:

  - macOS App Sandbox (isolates Hexo from other apps)

  - macOS file system permissions

  - Your Mac's user account security

  - Your Mac's encryption (if FileVault is enabled)

13.2 Security Best Practices. We recommend:

  - Keeping macOS updated with the latest security patches

  - Using strong passwords for your Mac user account

  - Enabling FileVault encryption

  - Regularly backing up important palettes

14. California Privacy Rights (CCPA)

f you are a California resident, you have specific rights regarding your personal information. However, since Hexo does not collect personal information, these rights do not apply to our App's use. Your data remains entirely under your control on your local device.

15. European Privacy Rights (GDPR)

If you are located in the European Economic Area (EEA), you have certain data protection rights. However, since Hexo does not collect or process personal data, GDPR does not apply to our data practices. All data is processed locally on your device.
