Terms of Service

ClockIn for macOS

Last updated: 24 August 2026

These terms cover your use of ClockIn, a menu bar world clock for macOS made by Carlos TV ("I", "me"). Installing or using ClockIn means you accept them. If you don't, please don't use the app.

Your licence

ClockIn is licensed, not sold. You get a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to use it on the Apple devices you own or control, in line with the App Store Terms of Service and Apple's [Licensed Application End User License Agreement](https://www.apple.com/legal/internet-services/itunes/dev/stdeula/). Where these terms and Apple's differ for an App Store copy, Apple's terms govern that copy.

You may not resell, redistribute, rent out or sublicense ClockIn, or attempt to reverse-engineer, decompile or modify it, except where the law expressly allows it despite this restriction.

Purchases

Any purchase, subscription, refund or cancellation goes through Apple under the App Store's terms. I cannot process payments or issue refunds directly; Apple can.

What ClockIn tells you, and how far to trust it

ClockIn reads time zones from the operating system's time zone database. That database is maintained by others and updated by Apple, and rules change: countries move their clocks, adopt or abandon daylight saving, and redraw zones, sometimes at short notice.

Some of what the app shows is deliberately approximate:

  • The daylight arc on an expanded card is a smooth approximation of the sun's height over the day. It is not calculated from the city's coordinates and does not represent real sunrise or sunset times.

  • Airport codes and population figures are rounded, cover only a selection of larger cities, and change over time.

  • Meeting overlaps and working hours are computed from the hours you set, and take no account of holidays, local customs or anyone's actual availability.

Use ClockIn as a convenience, not as a source of record. Where being wrong would cost you something — booking travel, a legal or contractual deadline, a market open, a medical appointment — confirm the time independently.

No warranty

ClockIn is provided "as is", without warranty of any kind, express or implied, including any implied warranty of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy or non-infringement. I do not warrant that it will be uninterrupted, error-free, or compatible with every configuration of macOS.

Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, I am not liable for any indirect, incidental, special or consequential loss, or for any loss of profit, data, business or opportunity, arising from your use of or inability to use ClockIn — including a missed meeting, flight or deadline. Where liability cannot be excluded, it is limited to the amount you paid for the app.

Nothing here limits your statutory rights as a consumer, or any liability that cannot lawfully be excluded.

Changes to the app and to these terms

ClockIn will change: features may be added, altered or removed in future versions. These terms may change too. Updates will be posted on this page with a new date at the top, and continuing to use the app after that means accepting them.

Ending the licence

This licence ends if you stop complying with these terms, and you can end it at any time by deleting ClockIn from your Mac. Deleting the app removes its stored settings with it.

Third-party software and trademarks

ClockIn includes https://github.com/sindresorhus/KeyboardShortcuts by Sindre Sorhus, used under the MIT licence.

Apple, macOS, Mac and the App Store are trademarks of Apple Inc. City names, country names and airport codes belong to their respective owners and appear here for identification only. Apple is not a party to these terms and has no responsibility for ClockIn, though Apple may enforce them against you as a third-party beneficiary of your App Store licence.

Privacy

ClockIn collects no data. See the https://automatic.pictures/clockin/privacy

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of Spain, and the courts of Spain have jurisdiction, without affecting any protection you have under the mandatory consumer law of the country you live in.
