ClockIn collects nothing. There are no accounts, no analytics, no advertising, no trackers, and no servers. Everything the app knows about you stays on your Mac.
What Clock In stores, and where Clock In saves your setup in the app's own sandboxed preferences on your Mac:
The cities you have added, their order, and any tags you give them
Which cities are pinned to the menu bar
The cities open in the Timezone Calculator
Your preferences: 12 or 24-hour time, appearance, working hours, what the menu bar shows, keyboard shortcuts, and whether ClockIn opens at login
This information never leaves your computer. It is stored in the app's container, and macOS removes it when you delete the app.
ClockIn cannot send data anywhere
ClockIn runs in Apple's App Sandbox and is not granted network access. The app has no ability to make network connections, so it cannot transmit your data — to me or to anyone else — even by mistake.
When you leave the app
Some buttons open pages outside ClockIn: my website, Patreon, Instagram, the App Store, the Terms of Service and this policy. Choosing one hands the address to your browser or to the App Store, which then acts under its own privacy policy, not this one. ClockIn does not add any identifier to those links.
Your clipboard
Copying a time or an overlap writes that text to your clipboard because you asked it to. ClockIn never reads your clipboard.
Opening at login
If you turn on "Launch at Login", ClockIn registers itself with the macOS login-item service. That is a setting on your Mac; nothing is sent anywhere.
What Apple sees
You download and update ClockIn through the App Store, so Apple handles that transaction under https://www.apple.com/legal/privacy/. If you have chosen in macOS to share analytics and crash reports with developers, Apple may show me aggregated, anonymised crash and usage statistics. I never receive your name, your email address, or the contents of your app.
In App Store Connect, ClockIn declares Data Not Collected.
Third-party code
ClockIn includes one open-source component, https://github.com/sindresorhus/KeyboardShortcutsby Sindre Sorhus (MIT licence), which handles the global keyboard shortcut. It runs entirely on your Mac and has no network or data-collection behaviour. There are no advertising or analytics SDKs of any kind.
Children
ClockIn is suitable for all ages. Because it collects no data at all, it collects no data from children.
Changes to this policy
If ClockIn ever changes in a way that affects this policy, I will update this page and the date at the top before the change ships. If a future version ever needed to collect anything, I would ask for your consent first.
